Your Window Tint Aftercare Guide

Fresh tint needs a few days to cure. Give it a little space while it dries and clean it the right way, and it'll stay clear, crisp, and protected for the life of the film.

Haze & Water Pockets Are Normal

Fresh tint looks a little cloudy at first. As the adhesive dries, trapped moisture works its way out — so some haze, and a few small water pockets are completely normal. They clear on their own.

Water Pockets

Small bubbles of trapped moisture. They shrink and vanish as it dries — don't poke or peel them.

Light Haze

A milky, cloudy look while it cures. It clears as the moisture evaporates — give it a few days.

Curing takes longer in cold or humid weather, and on big windows. Don't roll your windows down to “fix” haze or pockets — just let it dry.

Keep Windows Up

For 3–5 days, so the film can't shift or peel at the edges while the adhesive sets.

Don't Clean It Yet

Leave the tinted side alone for a few days — let it cure before you wipe it down.

Leave Pockets Alone

Don't pick, press, or peel at bubbles and haze — they dry out and disappear on their own.

Defroster & Dot-Matrix

Rear-window defroster lines and the dotted edge can stay hazy a little longer. That's expected.

Your Glass

The adhesive is still bonding to the glass. Give it time before you wipe the film or lower the window.

Day 05 — Clear & Cured

Pockets gone, adhesive set — roll your windows down and clean as normal.

Ongoing Care

Cleaning Your Tint

Once it's cured, keeping tint clear is easy — it comes down to using the right cloth and the right cleaner.

// What to clean with
Any glass cleaningUse an ammonia-free glass cleaner, inside and out
// Step by step

Wait until it's cured

Give the tinted side a few days before its first clean, so the adhesive is fully set.

Use a soft microfiber

Or a clean cotton cloth. Never paper towels, abrasive pads, or scrapers — they'll scratch the film.

Ammonia-free cleaner only

Ammonia clouds tint and breaks down the adhesive over time. Use an ammonia-free auto-glass cleaner, or just mild soap and water.

Spray the cloth, not the glass

Especially near the edges — it keeps liquid from wicking under the film at the seams.

Wipe gently — no scrubbing

Let the cleaner do the work. Hard scrubbing can scratch the film or lift an edge.

Rule: no ammonia, no abrasives, no scrapers — a soft cloth and a mild cleaner keep tint flawless.

Tint Questions

When can I roll my windows down?
Give it about 3–5 days. It can take longer in cold or humid weather, so when in doubt, wait an extra day.
Why does my tint look cloudy or bubbly?
That's normal curing. Moisture trapped under the film while it bonds makes it look hazy and creates small water pockets. It clears on its own as it dries — don't pick at it.
There are still little bubbles after a week — now what?
Most pockets clear within a few days to two weeks. If they're still there after a full cure, or an edge starts to lift, give us a call — it's covered.
What can I clean it with?
An ammonia-free glass cleaner, or mild soap and water, with a soft microfiber cloth. Never use ammonia-based cleaners, paper towels, or scrapers.
Can I use my rear defroster?
Yes, once the film has cured. The dot-matrix and defroster areas may stay slightly hazy — that's the film conforming around them, not a defect.
Is my tint warrantied?
Yes — quality film, professionally installed, is backed by a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and excessive fading.
